She had spent over a decade on a deeply spiritual path. In May 2024 she made a decision that took courage — she left her professional career to work as a healer full time. She believed in the work completely. She had the knowledge, the sensitivity, and the calling.

But from the moment she tried to step forward professionally, something stopped her.

She could not charge for her work. The moment money entered the picture, a voice inside told her that charging for spiritual service was wrong — that it would corrupt the work, that it made her a fraud. She had been on thyroid medication for twenty years. She had not connected these two things.

What She Had Already Tried

She had done personal development work. She had received guidance from teachers and mentors. She understood intellectually that healers deserve to be paid. None of it moved the block. The resistance was not in her thinking — it was somewhere deeper.

What Came Up in the Session

Three distinct lifetimes emerged, each carrying a piece of the same wound.

In the earliest, she appeared as a devoted male practitioner in 14th century Maharashtra — someone who had taken a vow that money would corrupt his spiritual practice, after being publicly labelled a fraud by the community around him. That vow — made from pain and humiliation — did not end with that lifetime.

In a later life, she appeared as a young woman sold into marriage for money at the age of sixteen. In that life, money meant loss of freedom, loss of self. The association had deepened.

In a third life, she appeared as a king torn between duty to his people and his inner calling toward a spiritual life. He died feeling he had abandoned those who depended on him.

Three lives. Three versions of the same conflict — between inner calling and outer world, between service and survival, between spiritual life and being seen as legitimate.

The Connection

The vow taken in the 14th century — money corrupts the sacred — had travelled forward. In her current life it showed up as a complete inability to receive payment for spiritual work, as the fear of being called a fraud, and as twenty years of thyroid dysfunction — the body holding a pattern of suppressed expression and blocked voice that the mind had never been able to resolve.

What Shifted

During the session the ancient vow was identified, acknowledged, and released. The realisation arrived not as an intellectual insight but as a felt experience — that seva (service) and receiving can coexist. That being paid does not diminish the sacred nature of the work. That the 14th century vow was made in fear, not in truth, and no longer needed to be carried.

At the end of the session she described feeling joyful and light — a marked contrast to the heaviness she had carried in. For the first time she could comprehend what had been blocking her, rather than simply feeling its weight.

A Reflection

A single vow made seven centuries ago — in pain, in fear of judgement — can travel forward through multiple lifetimes and arrive in the present as a professional block, a physical symptom, and a life half-lived. When the origin is found and released, the present life reorganises itself. Not through effort. Through clarity.
